Combo Creatures
Combo Creatures are a series of mixed up animals I am currently working on. Animals like the Croctopus, the Shrimpanzee, the Meercaterpillar, the Penguinea Pig, the Cowl, Hippobatymus, and the Rhinocipede. The picture to the right is 'Spread 1' from my story "The Croctopus".
Gertie a crocodile swims down the Nile to the ocean and meets Bertie the octopus. They fall in love, get married and have a child they name Croctopus. Croctopus is oblivious to the fact that he is a little bit different, until one day he chances upon his reflection in the scales of a silver fish. He then undertakes a voyage of discovery to discover what a Croctopus's attibutes are actually good for.
Spread 1:
A crocodile named Gertie swam along the river Nile,
She swam in one direction and kept swimming for a while.
Eventually the river stopped and turned into the sea,
But Gertie kept on swimming, in the ocean she felt free.
Then Gertie met an octopus called Bertie far from shore,
Who cuddled her with eight long arms then cuddled her some more.
The cuddles felt so wonderful they helped her to decide,
That this sweet crocodile should be an octopus’s bride.
Spread 3:
Quite soon after their wedding Gertie laid a spotty egg,
Which Bertie incubated in a space under one leg.
And soon the egg cracked open and what scrambled out was weird...
A jumbled mix of octopus and crocodile appeared!
Proud Bertie looked at baby and then wondered for a while.
He said to his wife Gertie, “Shall we call him Octodile?”
But Gertie didn’t like the name and said, “That’s not for us!
With teeth like me, and arms like you, let’s call him Croctopus.”
